BBC bosses have ordered a new series of corner shop sitcom Still Open All Hours, after being impressed with the Christmas special . Six episodes of the series, starring Sir David Jason as Granville , will be filmed in Doncaster and shown later this year. The show, which starred Sir David with late comic Ronnie Barker as stammering Albert Arkwright, originally ran from 1973 to 1985 but was revived for a special episode on Boxing Day. That one-off pulled in more than nine million viewers on the day with around three million more watching it on catch-up.     http://www.mirror.co.uk/tv/tv-news/open-hours-david-jason-return-3093635#ixzz2sYFsVgUv Follow us: @DailyMirror on Twitter | DailyMirror on Facebook

I was so pleased to hear that David Jason is to return for a half hour Christmas Special entitled STILL OPEN ALL HOURS in the role of the older Granville, now running Arkrights old shop. Filmed in Doncaster this month it will be screened on BBC 1. If it proves a hit, it could pave the way for a new series. it also features some of the old cast, but not alas the late great Ronnie Barker!
